The Hippo's Big 3-7 Tournament Official Rules

By entering in and participating in The Hippo's Big 3-7 Tournament Solos Tournament featuring Fortnite Zero Build, all players agree to the following:

1a. This Tournament is open to players aged 18 years and older in North America, where allowed by law. It is the entrant(s) duty to follow all local laws and regulations pertaining to this type of event. You must be 18 years of age or older to accept the terms and receive payment for any potential prize(s).

1b. Format is Solos, Best 5 Games in 3 Hours Elimination Race featuring Fortnite Zero Build in public lobbies. Points will also be awarded to the top 7 placing players in each game in addition to the elimination score. Please use the link below if you are interested in signing up. Signing up does not guarantee acceptance. Space is limited to 50 players. A waitlist will be available on a first come first served basis, Application Deadline is August 13, 2025.

2. K/D Cap: Limited to an OVERALL SOLO K/D (kills to deaths/eliminations) ratio of 3.7 or less, as determined by FortniteTracker.com. Ranked Play Records: Zero Build Highest Rank attained MAY be used to determine eligibility, at host/manager’s discretion, when there is a large disparity between “K/D” and Highest Zero Build Ranked attained. No accounts with less than 100 solo games played will be allowed to enter. All players must make their profile public upon entering the Tournament and until completion of the Tournament and prize payouts. Any change in your k/d during the tournament CAN affect your eligibility to claim a prize. Platforms are limited to PC, Playstation and Xbox. No mobile, Luna or Switch players, sorry.

3. Each player MUST stream live with microphone enabled (cam highly recommended) on Twitch.tv, YouTube.com or Kick.com and have VOD storage enabled AND published throughout the tournament and prize payment period. Please be aware of issues with music on VODs prior to playing; inability of Judges to verify scoring in a timely manner MAY disqualify you from claiming a potential prize. Failure to provide legible VOD evidence on request may result in disqualification.

4. One (1) Moderator or Player from the primary streaming channel will submit screen snips or screen shots of their best 5 games at the conclusion of the gameplay period to the Hippo Herd Discord Server and the designated channel. All players will receive a link to the server upon acceptance, and server roles will be assigned prior to the start of the event check in and will be color coded in Discord. 5. Any disputes will be settled by the tournament judges ToeKneeTM, KelcKay and TheGn0mie and all decisions are final.

6. Each player will submit a screenshot of their final placement for each game. Screenshots will be submitted to a Discord server and channel provided prior to the beginning of Tournament. Please make sure your shot is legible. You can find a tutorial for two ways to capture windows screenshots here.

7. All Cash Prizes to be paid out via PayPal ONLY to a valid PayPal account or prize money may be forfeit. Prizes will be paid within 3-5 business days from official publication of results, subject to final verification of compliance with all tournament rules. Non US Accounts may be subject to PayPal fees deducted from any prize. ALL PRIZE PAYOUTS ARE SUBJECT TO FINAL VERIFICATION OF SCORING, REPORTING and RULE COMPLIANCE. Playing in the tournament and posting a “winning” score does NOT guarantee a prize. Players posting a potential winning score will be subject to careful review before any prizes are paid.

8. Score tracking will be done via a Google Spreadsheet and will be viewable by all via https://tournaments.toekneetm.com/HipposBig37/.

9. Cheating of any kind will not be tolerated and will be grounds for immediate disqualification from the tournament and banning from participation in future events. Rage quitting is also grounds for a permanent ban from future events. Play to win, but HAVE FUN.

10. All players acknowledge and accept by participating that the Sponsor, Reuben_The_Hippo aka @HippoReuben may be a participant in the Tournament. Sponsor is fully bound by decisions made by tournament judges ToeKneeTM, KelcKay and TheGn0mie.

11. All players and participants agree to allow their streams and/or gameplay to be broadcast by the Tournament Manager, Host, Sponsor and/or other entrants for the duration of the tournament. You also agree that the Manager and/or Sponsor may use any tournament footage from any participant channel or social media account for post-tournament promotional purposes without further claim or compensation.

12. Server Settings: You must use either auto server select or your local geographical server set manually or you may be disqualified from claiming a prize. VPN Usage is not allowed!

14. There is a three thousand dollar ($3,000 USD) cash prize pool that will be distributed among seven (7) places as follows: 1st $1000, 2nd $600, 3rd $450, 4th $350, 5th $250, 6th $200, and 7th $150.

15. Potential Winners may be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility, liability release, and where legally permitted, a publicity release prior to receiving any prize. Failure to do so may result in disqualification and forfeiture of the prize.

16. By applying for and/or participating in this Tournament, each player agrees to abide by these Official Rules, all decisions of the judges, and all applicable laws. Noncompliance may result in disqualification.

17. If any provision of these rules is determined to be invalid or unenforceable under applicable law, such provision shall be deemed severed and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

A. Tournament format is standard Fortnite Solos in Public Lobbies.

B. All players must declare which of the three approved platforms they are playing from prior to the start of the tournament. Approved platforms are PC, Xbox and Playstation. Sorry, but mobile, Switch and Luna players are not eligible for this Tournament.

C. Tournament will consist of 3 hours of public lobbies in an elimination/placement race beginning at 3pm Eastern Time US on August 16, 2025 and ending at 6pm Eastern Time US. Times are Daylight Savings Time aka UTC-4 (Universal Time or GMT).

D. Check-in: Check in for each event will begin 2 hours prior to the start of the event. Players need to check into the Discord server to acknowledge that they are ready to play. ALL PLAYERS MUST CHECK-IN 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO EVENT START or you may not be able to play. Check in on Twitch at https://Twitch.tv/ToeKneeTM is also appreciated but not required.

E. Scoring: Each elimination counts as 1 point and the top three (3) places will be awarded bonus points as follows: 1st 10, 2nd 7, 3rd 5, 4th 4, 5th 3, 6th 2, 7th 1.

F. Final Placement Determinations and Ties: Points will be tallied from the top five (5) games and the player with the most points wins. Final placement in the Tournament is based on Total Points for each player. Ties in points will be handled by examining the average player placement over the five matches. In the event this ties, then the decision will be made according to placement in the first match and so on. In the event the tie cannot be broken by these methods, the 2 prizes for the corresponding placements will be combined and then split evenly by the two players. (i.e. a tie for 2nd would combine prizes for 2nd and 3rd, then split evenly: $525 per player).

G. Neither Host nor Sponsor are responsible for funds once paid. Once again, a valid PayPal account in good standing is required for payout. Prize payouts (especially those in non-US dollars) are subject to PayPal fees and are NOT the responsibility of the Sponsor or Host. Please allow 3-5 business days for payment of prizes after official results are published.
